Programming and Communication Coordinator   

Musique du Bout du Monde is a non-profit organization that organizes cultural events with the aim of discovering and celebrating cultural differences through music and other media. Every year, it organizes the Festival Musique du Bout du Monde, a large-scale event that has become a cultural and tourist attraction with national and international influence.

Mandate:

Under the responsibility of the Assistant Director General, the Programming and Communication Coordinator participates in determining, with the advisory committee, the programming of shows. He/she also develops communication and marketing plans, and ensures their deployment, coordination and follow-up in order to achieve the organization's objectives. He/she ensures that the identity and image of Musique du Bout du Monde are respected.

The challenges will be as follows:

Participate in the planning, coordination and evaluation of all activities of the Festival's artistic programming Musique du Bout du Monde.

Participate in an innovative and original world music program.

Participate in meetings with creators and professionals in the production and distribution of shows.

Develop, update and coordinate the communication plan to enhance and maintain the organization's brand.

Develop, update and coordinate the marketing plan.

Collect and evaluate performance indicators of communication and marketing actions.

Propose innovative solutions to increase the notoriety and ensure the sustainability of the Festival Musique du Bout du Monde.

Education and Experience:                   

Undergraduate degree in communications/marketing, project management, cultural mediation or other relevant discipline.

Three (3) years of experience in communications/marketing and in the organization of cultural events.

Knowledge and ability to effectively use various Office Suite applications and social networks.

Profile:

Knowledge and experience in the cultural and event environment.

Have a good knowledge of the arts sector and its workings.

Ability to manage and mobilize human and volunteer resources in a collaborative team environment.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Excellent writing skills.

Autonomy, initiative, sense of responsibility, versatility and adaptability.

Interpersonal, time management and problem solving skills and abilities.

Mobilizing and unifying leadership.

Creativity and innovation.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Bilingualism would be an asset.

Workplace : Head office in Gaspé.

Working conditions : According to the Human Resources Management Policy of Musique du Bout du Monde. Must have a valid driver's license.

The Deputy General Manager, being in support of the General Manager, is a true partner in the sense of a complementary role, in a logic of coordination and permanent consultation. He supports the General Manager in the day-to-day management of activities by proposing strategic solutions for the development of the organization.

The challenges will be as follows:

Participate in the planning, coordination and evaluation of the Festival Musique du Bout du Monde.

Actively participate in the consolidation of the organization's and the festival's funding.

Assume responsibility for the area of human resource development.

Directs the areas of communications/marketing, artistic programming, finance, logistics and information technology.

To propose innovative solutions to increase the notoriety and ensure the sustainability of the festival.

Education and experience                    

Undergraduate degree in administration, project management, marketing, communication, recreation, management or other relevant discipline.

Five (5) years of experience in management functions, event organization in cultural tourism, project management and human resources.

Knowledge and ability to effectively use various Office Suite applications and social networks.
