Summer 2020 job offer

In the context of the current pandemic, Musique du Bout du Monde has associated with the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism of Gaspé and Destination Gaspé to animate Rue de la Reine during 6 weekends. We hope, through this initiative, to create a marked interest for tourists and citizens of the city to go to downtown Gaspé. Musique du Bout du Monde will be responsible for management of the site and the artistic and cultural animation of this space.

Logistics and Customer Service Assistant

Outside of the events :

  • Contribute to the planning of the site set-up and dismantling timings
  • Contribute to the installation, dismantling and development of the Terrasses du Bout du Monde site
  • Implement a warehouse inventory process and ensure material management before, during and after events
  • Update event databases

During the events:

  • Directing visitors to the Terrasses du Bout du Monde site
  • To inform visitors about the functioning of the Terrasses du Bout du Monde site
  • Contribute to the management of the entry and exit process of the Terrasses du Bout du Monde site
  • Perform all other related tasks for the smooth running of the event

Communications and Customer Service Assistant

Outside of the events :

  • Support the implementation of communication activities related to Musique du Bout du Monde
  • Manage and coordinate the interview schedule and media exposure for Musique du Bout du Monde events
  • Update lists of members, clients, suppliers, journalists, etc.
  • Contribute to the organization of external and internal meetings
  • Set up and maintain the filing system, including the archiving of photos and videos of the various events organized during the summer
  • Contribute to the creation of volunteer schedules

During the events:

  • Directing visitors to the Terrasses du Bout du Monde site
  • To inform visitors about the functioning of the Terrasses du Bout du Monde site
  • Contribute to the management of the entry and exit process of the Terrasses du Bout du Monde site
  • Perform all other related tasks for the smooth running of the event

Assistant Program Coordinator

Outside of the events :

  • Contribute to the planning of tasks related to the comfort of the artists, accommodation, meals, transportation, etc.
  • Provide support to teams dedicated to programming, recording, broadcasting
  • Represent the organization with the artists and liaise with them or their representatives
  • Ensure compliance with contract commitments (hospitality quotes)
  • Link between the artists and the technique.

During the events:

  • Coordinate the well-being of the artists and the progress of their performances
  • Contribute to the management of the entry and exit process of the Terrasses du Bout du Monde site
  • Perform all other related tasks for the smooth running of the event

Skills:

  • Excellent command of the French language and good knowledge of the English language
  • Ability to learn
  • Proficiency in office automation tools (Office suite)
  • Concern for the quality of the work
  • Open-mindedness
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good ability to function under stress, be self-sufficient, have good organizational skills, initiative and judgment
  • Experience in event organization
  • Knowledge of the Gaspé cultural milieu is an asset
  • Any experience related to the position sought will be considered an asset

Qualifications and experience

  • Be between 17 and 30 years old
  • Be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program
  • Have a driver's license

Description of the contract

  • Number of hours to be discussed - Possibility of extended part-time work
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays and evenings
  • Salary: $18/hour
  • Number of weeks to be discussed
  • These positions may be conditional on a positive response from the Student Employment Canada program
