Gaspé, August 1, 2019- The Festival Musique du Bout du Monde, presented by Loto-Québec in collaboration with Telus, is proud to launch the 5th edition of its pre-FMBM.
When culture invites itself in enchanting places
Presented by the City of Gaspé, the pre-FMBM is a time to celebrate and get together in the greater Gaspé area. It is an opportunity to discover various musical rhythms while exploring beautiful places.
Starting Saturday August 3rd, come and meet Gaspesian artists during the musical afternoon at Berceau du Canada. In complicity with the FADOQ, rediscover the great classics of the last century as well as "Félix, le roi Heureux" by Pierre Michaud and Jean-Maurice Lebreux.
In L'Anse-à-Valleau, Pascal Côté will have you dancing to his country tunes during the musical picnic at Havre de Pêche. At 9 p.m., the documentary "Des animaux et des arbres" by Gaspesian Harold Arsenault will reveal the hidden treasures of the majestic Gaspesian forests.
On Sunday, August 4, start your day at Rivière-au-Renard with the traditional and delicious "Shrimp Peel", in collaboration with the Aqua-Fun. This is an opportunity to discover another jewel of the region, the shrimp, while enjoying the traditional tunes and turlutes of the group La Grande Visite. Once again, a fine example of the collaboration between local businesses-the Gaspesian Fisheries, Marinard and the North Atlantic Shrimp Festival.
We continue our day in Douglastown, with an Irish family afternoon. What better way to digest than to dance to the music of the traditional Celtic band The Cats in the Kitchen? At 3pm, in the mythical Holy Name Hall, come celebrate Irish culture and enjoy the BBQ offered by the Douglastown Community Center or try your hand at flag rugby.
At 8:00 pm, the Choeur du Bout du Monde will enchant you with the voices of 125 choristers from here and elsewhere. They will take you on a journey around the world through a varied musical repertoire at the Christ-Roi Cathedral in Gaspé.

When music comes to our seniors
Musique du Bout du Monde s mission is to bring music and the arts to everyone. That's why we offer two musical lunches in senior residences during
the preFMBM. The storyteller Patrick Dubois, accompanied on the piano by François-Pierre Poirier will animate the Villa des Buissonets and the Manoir St-Augustin during dinner time on August 5 and 6. Gaspesian legends and other tales will plunge the residents into the adventures of the past with music.

When the party ends, it continues
One of the pioneers of the electronic scene in Quebec will close the festivities of the pre- FMBM. On August 7th, starting at 9pm at Berceau du Canada, DJ Millimetrik will offer a unique show, combining electro rhythms, live percussions and projections on the sails. See you on Wednesday August 7 to dance and get ready for FMBM ! DJ MOM will continue the party at the Bistro-Bar le Brise-Bise from 11:30 pm to early morning with a playlist with 100% FMBM 2019 tunes!
From August 3 to 7, the Desjardins Evenings, documentaries highlighting music (in partnership with Vues sur Mer), and a training circuit await you!
