Seasonal job offers in Gaspé - Summer 2021

The mission of Musique du Bout du Monde is to organize events for its community to learn about and celebrate cultural differences through music and other mediums. In 2021, the organization's flagship event, the Musique du Bout du Monde Festival, will be held from August 5 to 8. To ensure the realization of this 17th edition of FMBM and other activities of the corporation, we are looking for 3 resources.

 

Logistics and Marketing Assistant

  • Contribute to the animation of volunteer committees in its sectors;
  • Evaluate and determine technical needs (equipment, services, procedures, etc.) and provide support for the realization of each volunteer committee;
  • Contribute to the planning of all the needs of the logistics department (equipment, services, human resources, rental agreements, site plans, festival mobility, etc.);
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of activities related to the setting up and dismantling of the sites as well as the maintenance of their proper functioning during the events;
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of the Green Brigade, including compliance with the standards of the Bureau de normalisation du Québec;
  • Contribute to the planning of activities related to safety and first aid and provide supervision in the implementation ;
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of activities related to decoration and paving;
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of activities related to the deployment of bar services, catering and merchandise sales ;
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the inventory;
  • Follow up with exhibitors and artisans.

Ticketing, Connectivity and Customer Service Assistant

  • Be responsible for the customer service of the organization;
  • To know the programming, the services offered and the general tourist offer in order to respond to the demands of festival-goers and tourists;
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of the deployment of ticketing and cashless transaction services (cashless system implemented in 2019 with RFID wristband) ;
  • Contribute to the organization of external and internal meetings;
  • Assist in creating and tracking volunteer schedules;
  • Perform direct customer service activities;
  • Participate in the accreditation of all volunteers and invitations;
  • Make updates to the website, application and other communication tools;
  • Contribute to the output of the various daily sales and ticketing reports;
  • Update lists of members, clients, suppliers and journalists.

 

Programming and Communications Assistant

  • Contribute to the planning of tasks related to the comfort of the artists, accommodation, meals, transportation, etc. ;
  • Support the teams dedicated to programming, recording and broadcasting;
  • Contribute to the creation of content related to the activities held by the corporation;
  • Set up and maintain the filing system, including the archiving of photos and videos of the various events organized during the summer;
  • Support the implementation of communication activities related to events at Musique du Bout du Monde ;
  • Manage and coordinate the agenda for interviews and media exposure for Musique du Bout du Monde events;
  • Represent the organization with the artists and liaise with the artists or their representatives;
  • Ensure compliance with contract commitments;
  • Coordinate the well-being of the artists and the progress of their performances.

 

Skills

  • Excellent command of the French language and good knowledge of the English language
  • Ability to learn
  • Proficiency in office automation tools (Office suite)
  • Concern for the quality of the work
  • Open-mindedness
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good ability to function under stress, be self-sufficient, have good organizational skills, initiative and judgment
  • Experience in event organization
  • Knowledge of the Gaspé cultural milieu is an asset
  • Any experience related to the position sought will be considered an asset

 

Qualifications required

  • Be between 17 and 30 years old
  • Be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program
  • Have a driver's license

 

Description of the contract

  • 35 hours per week
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays and evenings
  • Salary: $16 to $18/hour
  • Duration of 12 weeks
  • These positions may be conditional on a positive response from the Canada Summer Jobs program support
