SATURDAY EVENING, AUGUST 10, 2019- LAKOU MIZIK AND ALAIN PÉREZ Y LA ORQUESTA

LAKOU MIZIK

According to Jazz Weekly magazine, " anyone who needs a moral lift through the power of music will find it here.

It's true that this multi-generational Haitian collective has that effect; their music is comforting in the energy it instills.
Lakou Mizik invokes African, Caribbean and North American influences, with voodoo rhythms and fervent singing to make a 100% Haitian mix.

They invite listeners to join them in their lakou (which means "home," or "where we come from"), to share the rich history, complexity, and emotional character of the Haitian people.

Saturday August 10th under the Big Top, bodies and souls will vibrate to the rhythms of Haitian percussions.
