Musique du Bout du Monde welcomes a new executive director
Musique du Bout du Monde announces the arrival of Steve Pontbriand as General Manager. As of January 2020, Mr. Pontbriand will officially join the team of the 17th edition of the Musique du Bout du Monde Festival, which will be held from August 1 to 5 in pre-FMBM mode and from August 6 to 9, 2020 for the FMBM.
His appointment has the full support of the entire team and the Board of Directors. All are looking forward to welcoming him to the organization where he will contribute to the pursuit of the festival's social mission.
First as a festivalgoer, then as a member of the programming committee since 2018 and administrator since 2019, Mr. Pontbriand has a fine knowledge of the organization and its festival. A resident and lover of Gaspé since 2005, he held the position of director of the youth program at the CISSS de la Gaspésie until recently. For the president of FMBM, Mrs. Sophie Bourdages, "the appointment of Steve, a manager with nearly 15 years of experience, supported by studies in music, ensures the transition of the strategic vision of the organization while the current general manager Mr. Brochu has announced his desire to gradually move towards retirement.
This appointment is part of a knowledge and skills transfer process affiliated with the development plan of this flagship event for the region.

"When I arrived in Gaspé 6 years ago, I took the helm of an event that was already 10 years old and had a strong identity. I am proud that together we were able to contribute to its anchoring in the greater Gaspé area as well as its influence on a national scale, notably thanks to the Gaspesian attraction: the sunrise concert. I am confident that Steve's contribution to the team will help us pursue the strategic plan that will be presented to the members of Musique du Bout du Monde at the AGM in February 2020.
