Berceurs du temps
"Berceurs du temps" offers an immersive experience that invites visitors to slow down and fully embrace the present moment. Their participatory sound installation "Bercer le temps / Lulling Time" takes shape through rocking chairs where festivalgoers can take a break and listen to lullabies from around the world.
The project also includes a mobile recording studio inviting everyone is to share a lullaby from their childhood, contributing to a living archive that now contains more than 2,700 lullabies in 106 languages.
Blending memory, voice, and connection, the artists of Berceurs du temps create a poetic space for reflection at the heart of the festival, celebrating cultural diversity and the soothing power of music. You can see them at Berceau du Canada on Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9.
By creating poetic spaces that foster moments of sharing and togetherness, the members of BERCEURS DU TEMPS blend theatrical, performative, sound, and visual practices around their shared interest in the voice as a medium for connection. Founded in 2016 by choreographer Sarah Dell’Ava and playwright Ilya Krouglikov, the company seeks to bring art to people in unpredictable and unconventional ways, offering new perspectives on the world and time. Participatory, intergenerational, and inclusive, their projects aim to realize each individual’s creative potential through a process of opening up to oneself, others, and the environment. Like the installation BERCER LE TEMPS, which continues its tour after more than 250 performances, they promote sharing, heritage, and transmission through co-creation and cultural mediation initiatives with young people and seniors.
