DJ Karaba

Music and movement have always defined Karaba's life. Karaba was born in Grenoble, France, and moved to Montreal at the age of seven. As a child, Karaba enrolled in dance, which would become the next key step in her artistic journey and her first love. A self-described immigrant all her life, Karaba moved to major music markets to pursue her dance studies, such as New York when she was 20, then Los Angeles in 2014.

While in Los Angeles, Karaba danced for some of pop music's biggest names such as Drake, Camila Cabello and Selena Gomez, and appeared in numerous music videos and award shows. When a major tour was cancelled in 2016, Karaba felt helpless about the next step in her career. She then turned her attention to DJing and music production, a thought that had been on her mind for some time. By enrolling at the DJ Scratch Academy in Los Angeles, she says she found a renewed artistic purpose.

DJ Karaba is currently working on her own project, an EP that will combine her love of creating and moving music lovers, with her desire to master production. After nearly two years working full-time on the project, Karaba says it's one of the most rewarding things she's ever done.

DJ Karaba's music is electric and captivating. There's no pausing or slowing down. Her intensity, her desire to see people dance and feel the music as she feels it, is ambitious and all-consuming. There's an unfailing joy in such devotion to sound and in being enveloped by her passion.
