Kilombo

The "Les Batucadas du Bout du Monde" project, launched at the 20th edition of the festival, marked the long-awaited return of Kilombo, Gaspé's Brazilian batucada. Founded in 2004 on the heels of the very first edition of the FMBM, inspired by the performance of a guest batucada, Kilombo thrilled the community for over 15 years before being put on hiatus due to the pandemic.

Today, the adventure continues: Kilombo is back in action as the festival's main batucada. Since its rebirth last year, the group has enjoyed a new lease of life, driven by the enthusiasm and commitment of its members and the entire community. Its return embodies not only an artistic renaissance, but also a true celebration of Gaspé's festive and unifying spirit.

You can catch Kilombo every day in the late afternoon on rue de la Reine, a perfect opportunity to get carried away by the percussive rhythms and infectious energy of this house band.
