The Djembe Festival – SAMAJAM

The Djembé Festival ✩ SAMAJAM is a signature SAMAJAM classic that has been thrilling audiences for over 20 years: a collective, festive, inclusive, and 100% participatory musical experience designed to bring people together—through group percussion—at festivals, in cities and regional counties (MRCs), in parks, at public events, and through cultural outreach.

Guided by a master African percussionist and accompanied by professional artists from SAMAJAM, participants discover the world of the djembe, learn the basics, and work together to create powerful, infectious rhythms.

Open to everyone, with no musical background required, this unique program—offered as performances or workshops—introduces participants to the richness of African rhythmic traditions through an immersive, dynamic, and unifying cultural experience.
