Parädolia

Imagicario presents: Parédolïa

Let yourself be swept away into the magical world of Parédolïa alongside four living streetlights. They transport us to a timeless realm, at the crossroads between the world of gas streetlights and electric streetlights…

On May 16, 1879, on the Champ-de-Mars in Montreal, a light came on… It was the city’s first electric streetlight! Hundreds of citizens gathered for the occasion to marvel at this event—this spectacle—that was almost like magic.

Little by little, the gas streetlights will be forgotten, and the hard-working profession of the lamplighter will disappear. But before they go out forever, the streetlights will light up one last time—one by one, all together—for one final dance...

With their glowing globes shining brightly, the old streetlamps bathe the night in a light that is both splendid and subdued... As silent witnesses, they will carry with them all the secrets that only the night allows…

An ode to nostalgia for a bygone era, the rise of nightlife, and major historical changes!
