To ensure the achievement of the FMBM 2024 and other activities of the corporation, we are looking for two (2) resources: one in the communications sector and one in the experience of festival-goers and volunteers.

THE ORGANIZATION

Musique du Bout du Monde (MBM) is a non-profit organization and social economy enterprise whose mission is to organize events for its community with the goal of discovering and celebrating cultural differences through music and other mediums.

The20th edition of the organization's flagship event, the Festival Musique du Bout du Monde (FMBM), will be held from 8 to 11 August 2024. Every summer, the majestic landscapes of the Gaspé Peninsula become the scene of encounters and rich artistic discoveries.

Job Descriptions

Responsibilities – Communications Assistant
Social networks, press relations, content creation (writing, visuals).

  • Contribute to the creation of communication content;
  • Press Relations;
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of protocol activities;
  • Manage social media before and during the event (calendar);
  • Contribute to the planning and realization of the scenography;
  • Manage contracts for photographers, videographers, and content production.

Responsibilities – Assistant Experience for Festival-goers and Volunteers
Customer service, CRM, ticketing, festival info-and volunteering.

  • Know the programming, the services offered and the general tourist offer;
  • Act as the organization's customer service manager;
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of the deployment of the ticketing system;
  • Carry out activities related to the mobilization of volunteers;
  • Write information emails and newsletters for festival-goers;
  • Make changes to the website (WordPress) and the FEST app.
General Skills
  • Excellent command of the French language and good knowledge of English;
  • Fluency with office automation tools (Office suite, Teams, etc.);
  • Open-mindedness and ability to work in a team;
  • Good ability to function in times of stress, good organizational and priority management skills;
  • Knowledge of the Greater Gaspé region (an asset);
  • Experience in events or related to the desired sector (an asset).
General Prerequisites and Conditions
  • While all applications are considered, our funding with Canada Summer Jobs directs us to prioritize candidates between the ages of 17 and 30;
  • Hold a valid driver's license;
  • Be available from early June to mid-August and at all times during the festival;
  • Availability to work on a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends;
  • Status: Full-time seasonal;
  • Hourly wage of $18.50/hour.
